Chad Butler aka Pimp C rest in peace young Soldier
A reader with the screenname ActSteeringCmte emailed
me and asked who was that man Pimp C? I sit there for a moment and thought about various conversations that his mother and
I had over the years. I finally replied with this:
He was a young man dearly loved by his mother, as he
was her only child. He was a father and best friend to one of my best friends Ken Ivy aka Pimpin Ken. He was a young man that
made mistakes as we all have, but I can truly say he learned from them. I remember on several occasions his mother Wes Monroe
asked that I pray with her for him. Since I sometimes get angry and say a lot of bad words I called a Bold Woman of God and
my close friend Evangelist Joyce Rodgers to pray with us all. One thing I know is if anybody can get a prayer through my
Dear friend Sister Rodgers can… I Thank God for her.
Chad Butler was a Lyrical genius, who appealed to the
masses that most would've overlooked. He was my friend’s baby boy who she will miss forever. Pimp C's true friendships
are reflected in the movie "Best of Both Worlds" which can be purchased at www.pimpinken.net. I remember calling Wes for Ken, asking for C’s information to visit him in jail in Houston. When Pimpin Ken visited
him he was so excited. Ken asked him did he need any money he said no, all he wanted was pictures… And pictures he got
the next day.
After that reply to the emailer she replied back
simply "Oh how sad".
Everybody has had their own special moment with this
young Soldier… The reason being is, GREATNESS he was.
God granted him his long awaited wish, and that was
to be at the top of his Game before he had to leave… “International Player Anthem (I Choose You)… has been
nominated for Best Rap Performance Duo or Group… From the small Town of Port Arthur, Texas he did a kick door and made
the entire Music scene lay down on the floor… Making em get their minds right about the Texas Rappers in the meantime.
Go rest now young Soldier you did your thing in away only Wes Monroe’s one child could… To Wes, Pops, Lil C, and
