Spice 1 says he’s 187 Proof
I received a call asking if Spice 1 was dead. I said to myself Oh my God not another one. I couldn’t
reach out to anyone to find out right then. I had to just breathe and come back to myself. I reflected back on the first time
I met Spice and the lasting impression he made on me. I remember cooking for him and laughing at how much he enjoyed eating.
My thoughts went back to Spice 1 featuring on one of my B4 Reel Records Artist LA’s song This 4 Y’all in the closet
of my Producers bedroom in Dallas Texas, and how he thought nothing of it. His wit and big heart came to mind. Just a whole
lot of things were flashing in my head.
Finally I gathered up enough nerves to reach out to Jason Sweeney on the West Coast, since the Article that
he wrote on Spice 1 was the most recent that I could find. Jason was in shock when I asked him about the rumor that I heard
that Spice 1 had died. He made a call to Spice’s mother Jean Green-Craven who confirmed that her son that major figga
was still with us and doing fine. She asked Jason to give me her number. I could breathe again. I spoke with her and she said
he is fine, doing great. She asked that I please let everybody know especially the folks in Texas the origin if the rumor
or call I should say. While I was on the phone with her she hooked me up with him.
I was so happy to hear his voice. I said what up Boy; he laughed and said I told these folks I’m 187
Proof. He went on to tell me that his lungs were okay now and strong as ever. He asked me to tell everybody that he is very
much alive and kicking. He is currently working on his new Album from his hospital bed. He said that he is rapping and singing
also that the injuries that he has are not, I repeat not life threatening.
I asked him why he thought the guy shot him; he replied that the shooter probably didn’t see him because
of the tint on the windows of his Escalade Truck, he continued by saying that he felt that the shooter was scared when he
found out that someone was in the truck and shot. Apparently the guy was after the TV’s in the truck or the Truck itself
but not Spice 1. Spice was in GREAT spirits upbeat, and joking as he does.
Spice 1’s mother Jean Green-Craven said to let everyone know again that he is alive and recovering in a hospital in Hayward
Ca., and that she thanks everybody for their prayers for her son.
